# Common Issues

## 🛡️ Gepard Shield

### Error: Code GT:301:00:0

> **Gepard cannot validate your license with the server.**

#### Solutions

* Check your Internet connection.
* Temporarily disable your VPN if you use one.
* Allow **LunaticRO** and **Gepard Shield** in your firewall or antivirus.
* Restart your computer and try again.

### Gepard Shield closes right after launch

This usually indicates a graphics configuration problem.

#### Solutions

* Open **OpenSetup.exe**.
* Select your graphics card.
* Choose your resolution.
* Save then restart the game as administrator.

### Gepard Shield closes without displaying an error

#### Solutions

* Run **OpenSetup.exe**.
* Verify that your graphics card is correctly selected.
* Temporarily disable your antivirus to check that it is not blocking Gepard.

## 🎮 Game Client

### My client crashes on launch

The client must be installed directly on your computer.

In particular, avoid:

* a USB drive;
* a network drive;
* a compressed folder (.zip);
* the desktop.

Also make sure your graphics card is correctly selected in **OpenSetup.exe**.

### Error: Unable to open d3d or .grf file

#### Solutions

* Run **OpenSetup.exe**.
* Select your resolution.
* Choose your graphics card.
* Save the settings then restart LunaticRO.

### Black screen after launch

In some cases, a simple reconnection is enough.

If the problem persists:

* Close LunaticRO completely.
* Relaunch the client.
* Check your Internet connection.

### The second client crashes the first

This problem usually stems from Windows User Account Control (UAC).

#### Solutions

* Open **OpenSetup.exe**.
* Go to **ROExt**.
* Uncheck **"Free CPU when idle"**.
* If necessary, reduce the User Account Control (UAC) level.

### I cannot select a resolution

Try running **OpenSetup.exe** as administrator.

***

### I want to play in 2K / 4K resolution

The Ragnarok Online client does not handle very high resolutions correctly.

LunaticRO provides **dgVoodoo** in its installation folder to improve compatibility with high resolution displays.

### How do I use my NVIDIA graphics card instead of the Intel one?

If your computer has two graphics cards:

* open the **NVIDIA Control Panel**;
* add **LunaticRO.exe**;
* select **High performance NVIDIA processor**.

You can also use **dgVoodoo**, provided with LunaticRO.

## ⚡ Performance

### I have low FPS or the game freezes

Check the following:

* Your graphics card is correctly selected in **OpenSetup.exe**.
* Disable vertical sync with:

```
!vsync
```

If you have an NVIDIA card:

* open the **NVIDIA Control Panel**;
* go to **Manage 3D settings**;
* add **LunaticRO.exe**;
* turn off **Vertical Sync (V-Sync)**.

## 🔄 Update issues

### The patcher remains stuck at 0%

#### Solutions

* Close the patcher completely.
* Run it **as administrator**.
* Check that your antivirus or firewall is not blocking it.
* Wait a few moments if maintenance is in progress.

### Error: Communication with server failed

This error is usually temporary.

* Verify that the server is online.
* Check your Internet connection.
* Relaunch the patcher a few minutes later.

### Error: Unable to open XX.grf

#### Solutions

* Close all LunaticRO clients.
* Relaunch the patcher.
* Then open **Task Manager** and verify that no **LunaticRO.exe**, **Ragexe.exe** or **LunaticRO Patcher** process is still running.

In some cases, Windows does not close the client correctly.

## 🔒 Antivirus

### My antivirus deletes LunaticRO.exe

Some antiviruses incorrectly detect Gepard Shield as a false positive.

#### Solutions

* Add the **LunaticRO** folder to your antivirus exceptions.
* Then relaunch the patcher to restore the deleted files.

> **Never download LunaticRO from an unofficial source.**

## 🧩 Third-party software

### GreyWorld.grf

GreyWorld can be enabled or disabled directly from the **LunaticRO Patcher**.

### Is third-party software allowed?

**No.**

The use of third party software is strictly prohibited.

This includes in particular:

* bots;
* automation tools;
* DLL injectors;
* cheating software;
* client modifications.

Use of these programs may result in penalties on your account.

## 🍎 macOS & Linux

### Can I play on macOS or Linux?

Ragnarok Online is a game developed exclusively for Windows. So there is **no official support** for macOS or Linux. However, some players manage to launch the game thanks to:

* Wine
* WineSkin
* Lutris
* PlayOnLinux
* PlayOnMac
* WineBottler

or via a virtual machine:
