# Mining System

The mining system allows adventurers to mine rare ores directly in the dungeons of Rune-Midgard.

**Ore veins** appear randomly in all dungeons. By using a **Pickaxe**, you can try to extract different materials used to improve your equipment.

### How to mine?

#### 1. Obtain a <img src="/files/Mw9sIuaoWkKvtjhFFvY6" alt="" data-size="line"> Pickaxe

**Pickaxes** can be purchased from the Tool Dealer in LunaPolis (Capital) for 5,000z and are necessary to mine ore veins.

#### 2. Find a Vein

Veins appear randomly in all Midgard dungeons.

Types of veins available:

### Risk of failure

Each attempt has a 15% chance of failing.

In case of failure:

> "The vein breaks, but you don't find anything useful."

### Breaking the Pickaxe

Mining is not without risk.

After each extraction, your pickaxe has a 10% chance of permanently breaking.

In case of breakage:

> "\[Mining] Your Pick-Axe is breaking."

### Vein regeneration

Once used:

* The vein disappears.
* It becomes temporarily unavailable (around 10 minutes)
* It will automatically reappear at other coordinates.

#### Trick

As the veins are spread across numerous dungeons, mining is an excellent secondary activity during your farming, MVP hunting or group progression sessions.
